For the past six years, it has been my privilege to represent the citizens of District 20 in the Florida House of Representatives.  During this time, I have been successful in passing legislation in such diverse fields as education, military and veterans affairs, healthcare, health insurance and historic preservation.

I have served as Chairman of the House Tourism and Trade Committee and as  Chairman of the House Select Committee on the Protection of Personal Information.  It has also been my privilege to work with Admiral LeRoy Collins, Jr., Congressman John Mica, and county commissioners to ensure that a new veterans’ nursing home is centrally located in District 20.

Our state and our nation confront difficult and complex economic challenges.  In Florida, our state revenue is declining significantly, yet we have demands for increased funding for education, human services, safety and security, transportation, the courts, and virtually every other function of state government.
